The club used the services of Icon Design Solutions to carry out a renovation of our foyer, entrance corridors and function room. I could not be happier with the service provided by Merrill and her team and the outcome far exceeds my expectations. Nothing was too small or tedious for them to accommodate in the planning and installation stages and the comments made by members and visitors have been amazing. We will definitely be using them again to upgrade other areas of our club and I can thoroughly recommend them to prospective clients.
My thanks and appreciation to you and your team for the work completed on the ‘Prosperity’ themed gaming room and the Noodle House restaurant. The process working with Merrill has been a great pleasure from start to finish. Merrill has provided a concept with design and style that we have not been able to find from previous designers. The club has felt involved during the whole process, being allowed to inspect the progress of the build as each step is completed. The installation is what surprised me the most. Because all the fittings are pre-fabricated off sight, we literally closed the old Noodle House at 11pm on Monday night, and re-opened with a stunning new Noodle House at 12 noon on Tuesday. Merrill is a talented artist, and is passionate about her work. Her team are professionals, and the club is certainly very pleased with the way in which IDS has transformed (seemingly overnight!) these spaces within the Club.
It is with enourmous pleasure that I write this reference. Sutherland Tradies engaged Merrill to theme our Gaming Room with a view to lauching it concurrently with the opening of new facilities here at the club. I am delighted to report that from concept to creation Merrill Vellenoweth and her team of artists hit the mark on every milestone during the project. Merrill’s grasp of my ideas were massaged nuanced and moulded into reality. Merrill turned vision into action and action into outcomes. Merrill delivered on time performance in all key results areas. They were on time, on budget and highly professional. We are known at Tradies a Values Based Organisation. It was clear from the outset that Merrill and her team understood and reflected our values and in particular the Values of Accountablility, Productivity, and Innovation. I very much look forward to working with Merrill in the not too distant future.
You did it! The ASFA National Conference will be remembered by many for the wonderful visual and the credit must go to you and your team for the designs, theming and building of the ASFA Crossing Hotel! Would you believe that one of our special guests (a Senator who will remain nameless) actually told the taxi driver to take him to the ASFA Crossing Hotel! It wasn’t until after further questioning that the poor driver worked out where this new Hotel was! Thank you for your hard work and for your support throughout the year and I do hope I have the pleasure of working with you again in the near future. I will certainly advise anyone looking to run an event in Canberra that you are an essential ingredient to its success. In fact it was universally agreed by myself and the Poly Team that we need “A Merrill” in every state!!!!
On behalf of the committee and especially on our behalf, a really truly truly SERIOUS thanks for all your help in producing our stage set and helping me with additional assistance in like a horse and suit of armour! Merrill what can I say - the set was stunning and the long frustrating hours spent in getting the committee to realise and appreciate what they were getting paid off as soon as they walked in the room. Their instant reaction - WOW !!! Thank you for your patience, flexibility and down right sense of humour plus your appreciation for what I was going through trying to win over a very strong 2-minded committee. Events Unlimited have used Merrill for an extremely diverse range of tasks from creating an interactive snapshot of life in Australia in World War II - “The Time Tunnel” for Australia Remembers through producing a fun way at looking at a serious security subject for an OECD conference, to the more mundane tasks such as making a 5 metre diametre spider for an internet exhibition. Merrill and her team have always been able to take the idea and convert it into the required physical product; on time, with the minimum of fuss, creating a quality product and without budget overruns. Particulary mention must be made of the “Time Tunnel” project which required painstaking research and accurancy to recreate the correct feeling of life in Australia during World War II. It also involved the sourcing of articles from Australia wide including such agencies as the National Museum of Australia who generally dont readily loan items of National significance. This interactive exhibition more than exceeded the Australia Remembers Campaign expectations and required a ten day extension - due primarily to imagination, flair and attention to detail shown by Merrill and her team. On a personal note, I find Merrill very easy to work with and most attuned to one’s requirements. Her staff are enthusiastic and put everything into producing a good result. My only problem - if too many people use her services she may be too busy for my jobs!
